The Lobby

When you go to join a Session room, you'll first be taken to the room's lobby.

There, you'll be able to see information about the room here, a preview of your video feed, and additional information about the room if the room owner has used the custom layout for the lobby. The design and information displayed in the room's lobby will also vary slightly based on whether the room is locked or unlocked.

Here's what a Lobby using the simple layout looks like (locked room).

There is only the call preview window and participant information. If you are joining an Interactive Webinar themed room, the call preview window will not be there as you don't share audio and video in this room unless you go on stage.

Note for room owners: The lobby will look the same for you, however, you will be able to use the Lobby Editor from here.

Let's take a closer look.

The Lobby of an Unlocked Room

When you're taken to the lobby, the first thing that you'll notice is a preview of your video and audio feed and the lobby message depending (if the custom layout is being used). They will be the most prominent things on the page, along with the name of the Session.

You'll be able to configure your video and sound settings from here, which includes adding a virtual background (click on the drop-down icon next to the camera icon then select Virtual background). You can also add or edit your name if you are joining as a guest user. 

The room owner can choose to display additional information here about the Session, this includes photos, videos, and links.

If someone is already in the room, you will see this information above the video feed.

The Lobby of a Locked Room

This will have the same look and feel as the lobby of an unlocked room, except for a few minor differences which are:

• You will not be able to see who is already in the room (unless you are the room owner).
• There will be an "Ask to join" button instead of a "Join room" button. You'll need to click on it and wait to be let into the room.

You can sign in from the lobby by clicking the Sign in button at the top right of the page. If you are already logged in, you will see your avatar at the top right and can adjust your account settings from here, or log out if you want to join the room as a guest instead.
