How to Use the Lobby Editor

As the room owner, you will have access to the Lobby Editor if you choose to use the Custom layout for your room's lobby. The editor allows you to add formatted text, images, videos, GIFs, links, and more to your session lobby. This is great for adding elements to your sessions. Here are some things that you could use it for:

• Branding and messaging
• An agenda
• A personal note
• A link to a pre-read
• An ice breaker
• A deck or download
• A promo code
• A digital business card

Accessing the Lobby Editor

• Log into your Session room owner account and enter the room that you would like to customize the Lobby for. (Alternatively, you may join the room using the host join link).
• Click on the Customize room icon (gear)

• Click on Layout under the Lobby section in the customization panel

• Select Custom

You'll be able to see a preview of how the room's lobby will look as you customize it from here. 

Tip! Once the Custom layout is enabled, you'll be able to make changes to the Lobby Editor from within the lobby itself. Other users will not be able to edit this, only room owners and hosts will be able to make changes here.

Using the Lobby Editor

The Lobby Editor will be pre-populated with some information and instructions on how to use it. Simply click into the field to start editing it to make it your own! 

How to Add a Section

If you'd like to add an entirely new section, press the Enter key, click on the plus icon that will appear, or press the Tab key, and choose the content that you would like to add by clicking on it or pressing Enter. 

How to Tune/Format a Section 

To format any of the sections that you have added:

• Click within the section that you would like to format
• Click on the four dots to the far right
• Format the content based on the options available to you for each
• Move sections up by clicking on the arrow pointing up. Move the section down by clicking on the down arrow, or delete the section by clicking on the X icon twice.

Important things to note

• The information will not show within the lobby unless you have edited it. 
• Use the text option to paste links directly onto the editor to embed them. Examples of supported services are YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter, and Gfycat among others. Links for unsupported services will just be expanded so they look pretty.
• Updates made to the Lobby Editor (and lobby) are shown to participants in real-time. We recommend customizing your lobby before sharing the join link if you would like to prevent Participants from seeing it while it is being customized. Additionally, you may paste everything in from a word processor such as Microsoft Word.
• Text can be converted to headings, however, headings cannot be converted to texts.
